Westville Miners Sports Centre

The Westville Miners Sports Centre will receive $2.1 million in funding from the province, which will go toward the second and third phases of an upgrading project. Thanks to the money, a new ice plant and new flooring, among other upgrades, can be completed. On hand for the announcement were, from left, Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage Minister and Pictou Centre MLA Pat Dunn; Tracy Hale, member of the Westville Rink Commission; Westville councillors Meghan Bragg and Mitchell MacGregor; Mayor Lennie White; Premier Tim Houston, also Pictou East MLA; Coun. Clarrie MacKinnon; Dave Sinnis, Westville Rink Commission chairperson; and Emma MacLeod, captain of the Northumberland Regional High School Nighthawks hockey team.
