A woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries earlier this month after being shot in the foot.

At 8:37 p.m. Nov. 4, Pictou District RCMP responded to a call near Melville-Seafoam of a gunshot wound to a woman's foot. The woman was transported to hospital to be treated.

Cpl. Natasha Farrell, with the Pictou District RCMP General Investigative Section Community Action Team, said police believe this to be an "isolated incident", with no threat to the public.

"The victim has been uncooperative with police, therefore we are asking for the public’s assistance in providing any further details," she said in an email to the Advocate.
