UPDATED: A 30-year-old Pictou County man has been charged in relation to an armed robbery in Trenton.
The man was arrested just before 9 a.m. on Aug. 14, two days after the robbery occurred.
At 11:50 p.m. on Aug. 12, New Glasgow Regional Police responded to a complaint of an armed robbery at a Needs convenience store on Main Street in Trenton.
Police say the man had entered the store with a knife and demanded cash. A brief verbal altercation with the employee ensued before the suspect fled the store on foot.
No one was physically injured.
The 30-year-old-male from Pictou County was charged with:
- possession of a weapon
He has been remanded into custody and is set to appear in provincial court in Pictou on Aug. 16 at 9:30 a.m.
Police in New Glasgow are investigating a complaint of an armed robbery in Trenton just before midnight on Aug. 12.
At approximately 11:50 p.m., New Glasgow Regional Police responded to the complaint at a Needs convenience store on Main Street.
Officers attended immediately with the assistance of the RCMP Police Dog Service.
Police say their preliminary investigation confirmed a man had entered the store with a knife and demanded cash. Following a brief verbal altercation with the employee, the suspect immediately exited the store.
The male suspect left the store on foot. No one was physically injured as a result of this incident. No money was taken from the store.
The man is described as medium build. He was wearing black sneakers, blue shorts and carrying a dark coloured bag.
