Yes, Santa Claus, there is a Beulah Claxton … and she’s back, especially to Pictou County.
For many, Tis the Season 15 is the show that has become a yearly tradition – the official start of the holiday season – not only for the patrons of the deCoste, but also for the talented actors and musicians who perform in the show including headliners Bette MacDonald and Maynard Morrison.
This show has become a way for the performers to celebrate the holidays by visiting their favourite venues and meeting friends, old and new. This show has become the jumping off point to the yuletide season featuring show favourites Beulah Claxton, Martin MacKinnon, Wayne Tomko, and more.
In addition to the assorted Cape Breton characters including the likes of Mary Morrison (who loves to tell you all kinds of stories about her husband, Gordie), the show includes wildly popular hilarious skits and festive songs the cast performs.
One knows that when this eclectic group of characters gets together, there are no holds barred. No one ever said it was easy, but it sure is great to see Christmas come around again.
Be sure to join MacDonald, Morrison and crew on Dec. 7 or 8 at the Pictou County Wellness Centre as part of the deCoste On the Road Tour to find out exactly what is so funny about Christmas. Both shows begin at 7:30 p.m. and are near or over the 65 per cent sold mark.
“It’s a show that regularly sells out early,” said Jennifer MacLennan, marketing manager for the DeCoste Centre for Arts and Creativity, in a press release.
For more information on the shows or to purchase tickets, contact the deCoste box office Monday to Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at 902-485-8848 or on Front Street in Pictou. Tickets can also be purchased online at decostecentre.ca/tickets.
