Atlantic entrepreneurs to learn from Dragon

Posted on September 28, 2012

As a fringe event of the 2012 Atlantic Dream Festival, Entrepreneurs’ Forum will be providing an extraordinary opportunity for five Atlantic Canadian companies to pitch-to and learn from Bruce Croxon – the newest addition to CBC’s Dragons Den and the founder of LavaLife.
A private pitch event is slated for the morning of October 16 where five Atlantic companies will have five minutes to pitch their idea to Croxon and a panel of local business leaders for feedback and input that could lead to securing Venture Capital.
The initiative is being sponsored and hosted by Entrepreneurs Forum whose mandate is “Helping Atlantic Entrepreneurs Succeed”.
The event is a fringe event that is taking place as a part of the 2012 Atlantic Dream Festival which is taking place in Nova Scotia on October 16 and 17 and will feature keynote speaker Michael J Fox, lifestyle icon Debbie Travis, success advocate Connie Podesta, and lifelong entrepreneur Bruce Croxon. The Atlantic Dream Festival is designed to inspire and encourage people from all walks of life to follow their dreams – it is being presented by the Nova Scotia Co-operative Council and Atlantic Central in celebration of the UN’s international year of cooperatives.
Entrepreneurs and businesses who would like to apply for the opportunity to participate in the pitch event must fill out an application located on Entrepreneurs’ Forum’s website no later than October 5. Companies must be focused on innovation, technology or a new development.
Others judges on the panel will include key decision makers from First Angel Network and a selection of private VC’s from throughout Atlantic Canada.
“This is an amazing opportunity to learn from a wildly successful Canadian entrepreneur,” says Kathleen Rayworth, the executive director of Entrepreneurs’ Forum. “This really can be a life changing experience for these companies,” she continued.
