Actions show disrespect for flag and country

Posted on July 11, 2012

To The Editor:
If that is the way Mr. Mackenzie supports our troops I am sure glad that he was never in the armed service. Being a veteran myself, I have the greatest respect for our flag and country.
The flag flies outside our home daily and I am proud to fly it for I served under it and fought for it and to have someone like Mr. Mackenzie drag it behind his motorcycle shows that he has no respect for Canada or our flag whatsoever. If he has a problem with something, there are many ways that he can attend to them and this is not the way to do it.
Many veterans like myself have no use for people like this for we served our country well and with pride and would do it again at the drop of a hat.
So I say to Mr. Mackenzie: get real, if that is possible, and apologize to the people of Canada for what a fool you are. Thank you and have a great day.
