The Thorne’s Burner Service Bantams AAAs won Silver at the Bedford Days Invitational Tournament recently in Bedford.
On Friday, Blair Dewtie, Steven Conway and Mitchell LeBlanc combined to pitch a “no-hitter” to defeat Sydney 6-0 in the first game of the tournament. Steven Conway was the player of the game.
In Saturday’s action, New Glasgow battled to an 11-all tie against Halifax. Mitchell Leblanc was player of the game.
In game 2, New Glasgow defeated Dartmouth 5-4 and Colby Russell was player of the game.
New Glasgow finished first in the Scotia Division of the tournament with a two wins one tie record which meant they played the second place team in the Nova Division Hammonds Plains in the crossover on Sunday; they defeated Hammonds Plains 11-1. Blair Dewtie was player of the game.
In the championship game Sunday afternoon, New Glasgow faced Halifax and after a hard fought battle lost to them 9-2; Tyler Baird was player of the game
Thorne’s Burner Service Bantam AAAs played a double header against Tri County on July 1 at the Kinsman Field in New Glasgow.
