NEW GLASGOW – Subway is showing some neighbourly love to their soon-to-be neighbour, the Pictou County Wellness Centre, with a $25,000 donation to the campaign.
Construction will soon begin on a new Subway location in the Albion Business Park, just around the corner from the site of the new Pictou County Wellness Centre.
“We are big fans and supporters of local sports, and this is a way to continue to show our passion for that,” said Subway owner/operator Greg Burrows.
“We’re proud to be a part of a project that supports local athletes, the fans and of course, the overall health and wellness of our community.”
The first Subway in Pictou County was built more than 20 years ago in the West Side Grocery Plaza, the second in Pictou 14 years ago and a third location on East River Road, New Glasgow, 11 years ago.
Locally, Subway is known for being huge sports fans and supporting many local sports organizations as well as other groups focused on the arts, music festivals, school plays, and many others.
In celebration of this gift, the away bench in the Auxiliary Arena will be named in honour of Subway.
There are a variety of legacy opportunities for donors of all levels, including the Take-a-Seat program which allows donors (from $100 to $5,000) to sponsor seats in both arenas. Contact the campaign office at 755-6725 or visit www.pcwellnesscentre.ca.
