To The Editor:
Over the past several months there has been a funding offer on the table from the Province to carry out a Governance study for Pictou County. But until now there has been no agreement with all councils to agree on their part of the funding. Mayor Barrie MacMillan at a press conference agrees with Mayor Joe Hawes of Pictou to try and work out a funding. At this time there is still no agreement. So it looks to me like they are like a octopus with their many tentacles, they all want to go different ways. As it stands now here in Pictou County we have far too many councils when all we need is one. Do we really need five mayors and a warden and as it stands now there are three police depts along with the RCMP. So I would say to all of the councilors to step up to the plate and put in your share of the funding and get on with the study. Thank you and have a great day.
