New jail location is not Coalburn

To the Editor:
I’m wondering why the NDP government is calling the area where the new jail is going Coalburn when obviously it is in Priestville right beside the former Priestville landfill?
If you read the report as to why this site was selected you’ll find that under the environment section it lists a derelict building and a scrap yard that is nearly a kilometer away in Linacy a concern, but no mention of the dump that the site is basically sitting on.
Mr. Landry out of all people should know the location, you know, since he patrolled it and I would hope he would know which community is which. Mr. MacKinnon who is the MLA for the area should know the communities in his riding I would think; Pictou East isn’t that big.
Oh well, I guess next time around I will have to vote for someone who at least knows where my community is.
